Day 1 Antibes

We were up bright and early as usual so we packed everything up and headed to the beach.  It was a beautiful morning, I popped open the beach tent and the kids had a great time for a few hours.  

Then it came time to gather our things and head home for lunch and naps before Emilia was set to arrive.  I got out my car keys and tried to open the trunk but nothing happened. Tried to open the sliding doors but nothing happened.  Passenger and driver's side doors were open but the ignition wouldn't start and said the key wasn't in range. So I freaked out a bit, called Jesse and Vw roadside assistance and proceeded to wait three extra hours alone with the kids at the beach waiting for help.  

Luckily the kids thought it was fantastic!  They played in the sand, rolled in the surf, ate sandwiches and then when we finally met the mechanic back at the car, it started right up as if nothing had happened.  It's good nothing was really wrong with the car but sort of scary that it didn't work for no diagnosable reason.  We finally headed home, finally got Emilia to the house and treated ourselves to a lovely sunset dinner on the beach.  We walked this time!
